UPCOMING EVENTS

Meet us in Paris on Feb. 17, 2025!

Aaliya's Books is bringing literature and Lebanese wine to "Staging the Stranger", an event originally planned to take place at Aaliya's in Beirut in the summer of 2024 and now held in Paris in collaboration with the Columbia Global Paris Center, the American University of Beirut and The Markaz Review.

The event explores Arabic adaptations of Western theatre classics and features a showcase of a bilingual Arabic-English adaptation of Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida.

👉 British theater producer/director Georgina Van Welie, along with Lebanese theater makers Lucien Bourjeilly and Caroline Hatem, will discuss their experiences of Arabic adaptations of Western classics and creating work both in the region and internationally.
